Edmond businessman living in $430,000 home busted for soliciting online prostitution

An Edmond businessman, living in a $430,000 home, has been arrested and criminally charged with soliciting online prostitution. Evidence from the arrest suggests this wasn't his first time seeking out a prostitute.

According to court records, on March 28, 2018, 35-year-old Derek Reynolds Byrd began sending text messages in response to a faux prostitution ad post online and monitored by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department's Vice Unit.

Last week was a busy week for Oklahoma City and County law enforcement. According to public records, at least 31 individuals were taken into custody by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department's Vice Unit and members of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.
