25-year-old music producer/graffiti artist is latest alleged 'John' to be arrested by OKC Vice

7/12/2016 - OKC, OK -- An Oklahoma City man who fancies himself a music producer, graffiti artist and vintage video game enthusiast is the latest alleged 'John' to be caught up in a local prostitution sting.

According to police records, 25-year-old Hugh Owings Spector was looking to fire off his own pocket rocket last fourth of July week when he allegedly responded to an online ad for sex.

A probable cause affidavit filed last Thursday gives the following details...

On Wednesday, After an undercover Vice officer posted a fake ad for prostitution on Backpage.com, they received several text messages allegedly from Spector.

Spector was directed to come to room #201 at the Motel 6 located on S. Meridian Ave. in south Oklahoma City.

Around 11 p.m., Spector knocked at the motel door of the faux hoe. Once inside, Spector "agreed to pay [the undercover officer] $120 in exchange for oral sex and sexual intercourse."

Spector was then taken into custody by backup police officers that made entry into the room.

Spector was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail and was released a short time later after he posted bond.

Spector listed his home address as a small apartment complex in the 2700 block of N. Robinson Ave., just north of downtown OKC.

A quick online search shows that Spector maintains two fairly public Facebook profiles - one under his name and one under the name Ghostl1ght (both were taken offline soon after this article was posted). On those profiles Spector livestreams his graffiti art hobby, links to his gaming streams on Twitch and lists a link to his Soundcloud account, where he posts music he has composed.

Spector, who attended Oklahoma State University, has been featured twice previously in the Stillwater News Press. In 2009 stwnewspress.com posted an article featuring Spector entitled "City man pursues music in Boston." In Jan of 2011 they posted another article entitled "Stilly Studio: Stillwater High School alum Hugh Spector."

As of this posting, formal criminal charges have not yet been filed.

No other criminal record for Spector could be found.

Spector faces a misdemeanor offering to engage in prostitution charge. If convicted, Spector most likely would receive a deferred sentence, a fine and special conditions (like supervised probation, community service, etc.).

JohnTV will continue to follow this story.

UPDATE: on July 27, 2016, Hugh Owings Spector was officially charged in Oklahoma County with one count of misdemeanor offering to engage in prostitution.
