Mannford teacher arrested in Tulsa prostitution sting

5/17/2016 - Tulsa, OK -- A Mannford school teacher was arrested yesterday after he was caught up in a prostitution sting in Tulsa.

According to the Tulsa Police, around 7 p.m. on Moday, Jake Austin Cox, 25, responded to an escort ad posted online by undercover Tulsa Vice officers.

Cox then met with a female undercover officer at a southeast Tulsa Courtyard Marriott. Once inside, Cox allegedly agreed to pay for specific sex acts. Cox was placed under arrest and transported to the Tulsa County Jail on a criminal complaint of engaging in prostitution.

Police claim that Cox also admitted to the hiring of prostitutes in the past.

Cox, has since bonded out of jail after posting $1,000.

Authorities say that Cox teaches sixth-grade language arts at a middle school in Mannford.

Mannford is located in Creek County, west of Tulsa. 

Mannford public school district Superintendent Dr. Steve Waldvogel reportedly has commented that Cox is still an employee of the district, but is on paid suspension pending further investigation.
